As much as I'm a fan of the DBZ series, if I was to choose between this title and a King of Fighters title for the GBA, I'd choose the latter without batting an eye.This page has been removed due to a request from Nintendo of America Inc. Dragonball Z: Supersonic Warriors 2 brings back classic 2D fighting action with the popular Dragonball characters. It's another one of those titles that would appeal mainly to fans of the series. Though this title is fairly solid, it does have its fair share of shortcomings and it doesn't really excel at doing anything to appeal to gamers. The game worked fine from there on, and seemed to be a mechanical error with one of our handhelds, but we're not entirely sure what the problem was. We checked our systems and they seemed to be working okay, but after the game dropped several more times, we tried switching systems. While testing the multiplayer, in the middle of a bout, the game would just disconnect. Another problem with the multiplayer is that the game dropped quite a bit during gameplay. During testing, I had a nice variety of characters unlocked while my opponent had a copy of the game fresh out of the box and was at a distinct disadvantage. Players who haven't unlocked much are at a vast disadvantage as only the key characters at their weakest levels are available at the start. Each person has 12 points to play with and can choose whoever they want. The multiplayer portion of the game is isolated to the versus mode and follows the point-based character selection. The game requires a copy of the game to every person playing and utilizes the wireless connectivity of the DS. Once you unlock more characters, you can have a balanced force at your disposal that can consist of a powerhouse, a mid-range character and a weak character. Gero or just one character that can hold his own, like Super Saiyan 3 Gotenks. Players have the option of having a force of three weak characters like Child Gohan, Cpt. You can have a maximum of three characters, but they have to be under a certain amount of points. This is where you'll find that characters are assigned points based on their power, similar to Capcom vs. As you unlock hidden characters, you'll find some are overwhelmingly more powerful than others. In all modes other than the Story mode (where you're assigned specific characters from mission to mission), you can select your characters, though some strategy is definitely required. Once unlocked the extra abilities will be available in all modes of gameplay including versus.
Everything from special attacks to hidden characters to the ability to become a Super Saiyan (where applicable) are available to be unlocked. The mode also contains the vast majority of the unlockables the game has to offer.

Things like characters boasting that the opponent can't cause any harm or that a very specific attack is incredibly powerful (which would mean get a perfect victory or use a given attack respectively) are annoying and can totally soar over the heads of players. The issue is that the game doesn't tell you what the conditions are.
